COLOR THEORY

Color theory encompasses a multitude of definitions, concepts and design applications. All the information would fill several encyclopedias. As an introduction, here are a few basic concepts.


The Color Wheel





A color circle, based on red, yellow and blue, is traditional in the field of art. Sir Isaac Newton developed the first circular diagram of colors in 1666. Since then scientists and artists have studied and designed numerous variations of this concept. Differences of opinion about the validity of one format over another continue to provoke debate. In reality, any color circle or color wheel which presents a logically arranged sequence of pure hues has merit.


PRIMARY COLORS
Red, yellow and blue




In traditional color theory, these are the 3 pigment colors that can not be mixed or formed by any combination of other colors. All other colors are derived from these 3 hues


SECONDARY COLORS
Green, orange and purple
These are the colors formed by mixing the primary colors.







TERTIARY COLORS


Yellow-orange, red-orange, red-purple, blue-purple, blue-green and yellow-green.


These are the colors formed by mixing a primary and a secondary color. That's why the hue is a two word name, such as blue-green, red-violet, and yellow-orange.

Agan2 semua pasti pernah dengar tentang konsep Tabularasa - The table of color, kalo belum pnah dengar jangan sedih, emang tu konsep gak terlalu terkenal koq (hehe), intia nya tentang table yang isinya warna...ya derajat warna dari kuning ampe ijo....kaya gradasi githu.




Pada table itu diterangkan urutan pembentukan warna yang mengacu pada pembiasan warna putih seperti pada pelangi..yang itu loh gan, Me-ji-ku-hi-bi-ni-u...nah dari situ kita dapat asal usul warna, mangkanya kalo usul gak boleh asal, kalo asal gak boleh usul..hehe.


dalam teori lain, warna terbentuk dari tiga warna primer yakni : R G B - ato Red Green Blue.
Buat agan2 yang belajar web desain pasti udah paham konsep ini soalnya untuk bahasa HTML acuannya adalah RGB ini. diterjemahkan dalam kode menjadi: 
#RRGGBB - isinya biasanya kisaran antara 0-f (0123456789abcdef)

berarti kalo putih apa gan?  nih #ffffff
lha kalo nyang ini apa gan? #e1a79a . . .hihihi cari tau aja sndiri


RGB juga sering disebut PRIMARY COLOURS karena dari percampuran ketiganya kita bisa punya ribuan bahkan jutaan warna lain. Anak2 SD sering bereksperimen dengan plastik tembus pandang untuk membuktikannya, agan2 pasti lebih jago. pake aja cat biar mantep. Kalo pengen bikin ungu ya tinggal aja merah ma biru digabung. Terus kalo ijo? Ya kuning ma biru digabung, dst..sama seperti html tadi. intinya warna tuh kagak ade matinye.


Dalam eksport grafis dari Corel ato Psd, kita juga sering pake RGB soalnya ini lumayan komplit dan jelas, nah untuk saingannya yang terkenal mpe ke mana-mana adalah CMYK, apaan tuh?
